Kamiar Mohaddes

Kamiar Mohaddes is a Venture Partner at Uma Ventures Prism Fund. He is an Associate Professor in Economics and Policy at Cambridge Judge Business School, and co-founder of the King’s Entrepreneurship Lab at King’s College, where he drives student innovation. His research expertise spans energy economics, Middle East economics, and macroeconometric modeling. He ranks in the top 1% of global authors in IDEAS/RePEc, and his work has been cited by the US Congress and Congressional Budget Office. He received the Financial Times Award for Research Impact in 2025 and the Sandra Dawson Research Impact Award in 2023.
Kamiar holds a PhD in Economics from the University of Cambridge, where he was a Gates Cambridge Scholar, and an MPhil in Economics from Cambridge. He is a consultant to the World Bank, IMF visiting scholar, advisor to the Bank of Canada, and has served as a consultant to the Asian Development Bank and UN ESCWA. He is also an Associate Fellow at The Institute for New Economic Thinking at the Oxford Martin School.
